FieldView App – Privacy Policy

Transworld Technologies Ltd. built the FieldView App to support field technicians in their daily operations. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when using this app.
1. Information We Collect

User credentials: Email and password (used for login).
Device location: Latitude and longitude using GPS (foreground and background).
Battery status: For monitoring technician device readiness.
File uploads: Images manually selected by the user.
Camera access: For capturing and uploading service-related images.
Device identifiers: Device ID, IP address.
App usage data: Crash reports, session logs (via Firebase Crashlytics and Google Play Services).
2. Sensitive Permissions & Disclosure
We use sensitive permissions for core app functionality. Here's how:
Location (Foreground & Background)
Why: Enables real-time technician tracking, job site stamping, and operational monitoring.
When: Collected both when the app is open and in the background.
Control: You can disable location permission via app or device settings.
Camera
Why: To allow users to capture photos of equipment, issues, or documentation for upload.
When: Only when the user explicitly opens the camera from within the app. File Access (Read/Write External Storage)
Why: To let users attach documents or images to job reports.
Control: Files are accessed only when chosen by the user. No background file scanning occurs.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use collected data to:
Authenticate users
Provide real-time location tracking
Upload and associate files with service records
Monitor battery status to ensure operational readiness
Analyze crashes and improve app performance
4. Permissions & User Consent
We only request permissions essential to the app’s functionality. You are:
Prompted clearly via the app before any sensitive data is accessed.
Able to revoke permissions at any time via your device settings.
5. Log Data
In case of a crash or error, we collect data such as:
Crash details
IP address
Time and activity during the crash
This data helps us identify and fix bugs faster using Firebase Crashlytics and Google Play Services.
